For its 33nd edition, the Hay Festival invites you to step back in time for a weekend: period costumes, crafts from yesteryear, demonstrations of the skills of yesteryear...
All in a warm and friendly atmosphere! -
A weekend-long return to our roots, in the purest of traditions.
A programme steeped in the atmosphere of days gone by: an open-air mass, a parade in period costume, a country-style aperitif, presentations and demonstrations of traditional crafts, folk groups, horse-drawn carriage rides, a market selling regional produce, and on-site food and drink stalls.
With some new additions to this year’s event: a special Hay Festival ‘Crazy Race’ will be organised, a village dance, a...A weekend-long return to our roots, in the purest of traditions.

Saturday 1 August
2.00 pm to 8.00 pm: Hay Festival Village with workshops, craft demonstrations, refreshments and food
6.30 pm: Special Hay Festival Crazy Race
8.30 pm to 10.00 pm: Village dance and traditional meal
10.00 pm to 2.00 am: DJ night
Sunday 2 August
in Venosc from 8.00 am: Milking demonstration, farmer’s breakfast
In the resort
9.15 am: Open-air mass
10.30 am to 12.00 pm: Parade in period costume with a competition for the best costume
12.15 pm: Aperitif
HAY FESTIVAL VILLAGE
12 noon to 6 pm: Folk entertainment, demonstrations of traditional trades, farmers’ market, educational farm, pony rides, exhibitions and workshops
4 pm: Competition for the best blueberry tart
6 pm: Official closing of the 2026 Hay Festival
